Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks has confirmed an investigation is underway after at least two side-by-sides that drove through an area of the Big Hole River where brown trout are known to spawn.

NBC Montana received a copy of two videos from an anonymous source, who also provided it to the Big Hole Watershed Committee.

The video was taken around 5:30 p.m. Saturday near Melrose, at the Salmon Fly Fishing Access Site. The videos show a pair of vehicles going back and forth across the river, with a crowd cheering in the background.
