Johnny explained to me that these air hammers take quite a bit of air. And you can hear the pretty good sized rock, clinging and banging inside of the steel casing as the air pushes that rock up and out.
So, in a large diameter casing like this, you have to stop using the air casing hammer and let the air build up a little bit and then direct the air down the hole to be able to lift the actual drilled material up out of the hole.
One solution is a lot more air, which is very expensive. But no matter, he’s getting it done!
