So, you know Uncle Junior, right? That sarcastic old mobster who always had a smart remark up his sleeve? Well, believe it or not, Uncle Junior was almost played by other actors. Yeah, Tony Sirico and Frank Vincent both auditioned for the role. Can you imagine? Picture Paulie Walnuts delivering Junior's lines — forget about it. Luckily for us, the role ultimately went to Dominic Chianese. And thank goodness it did, because could you really see anyone else bringing that unique blend of dry humor and ruthless cunning to the character?

It's funny to think about how close we came to a different Uncle Junior. But hey, things worked out perfectly in the end. Sirico and Vincent nailed their roles as Paulie Walnuts and Phil Leotardo, respectively, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Each actor brought something so distinctive to their characters that imagining them in different roles is like picturing someone else in Tony’s shoes — not gonna happen.
