Deity Connect - [ Ссылка ]
In this video I want to talk to you about what I believe to be the BEST & most affordable solution for wireless audio in your filmmaking
The solution I’m referring to is the Deity connect.
With the rising need for everything to be wireless, having an affordable option that is also reliable is super important. There are many solutions like the Rode Wireless GO, the Rode Link, the Sennheiser G3/G4, and others that are not so well known.
This isn’t going to be a review from a sound quality standpoint [though I think Deity would win at that as well], this is simply a review on why the Deity connect is the most convenient and BEST solution out there right now.
Before I got the deity connect I was using the Tascam DR-10L - a pretty popular Lavalier option that was also a recorder. I would use this for weddings, business shoots, etc anytime I needed a lavalier. The problem was if I couldn’t capture loud enough audio via my on camera boom mic then it would be an absolute nightmare trying to sync everything in post.
Deity microphones was launched by a TV location sound mixer, so someone that was in the daily grind of needing to capture good quality audio as easy as possible. In April 2019 they released the Deity connect, a wireless lavalier system.
You’re probably like, dude Justin, there’s nothing new there, wireless lavs have been around since 1962.
Yes, they have been around awhile but I’m going to tell you what makes this system SO unique and convenient. The Deity connect comes with 2 wireless transmitters, and one receiver. BUT the receiver is able to pair with both of the transmitters allowing you to recording 2 lav mics to one receiver. VIA left and right mono channels.
This is super convenient any time you need to mic up 2 people at one time. I use this for all my weddings now, I mic up the officiant and the groom and it has been an absolute game changer. No more syncing audio in post, no more hassle of triple AAA batteries. All of the deity connect parts charge via USB-C port.
I also use this as a replacement for my zoom H4n, instead of plugging the Zoom into the DJ’s sound mixer for wedding receptions, I take off the lav mic on one of the transmitters and plug in a standard aux cable with a aux to 1/4 in adapter on the other end and plug that into the DJ’s headphone out jack on their mixer. This allows me to capture the purest of audio WIRELESSLY directly into my camera for the speeches.
And the BEST part is you can control ALL the transmitter settings on the receiver itself. So if you notice the audio is louder than you anticipated.. no problem, just lower the mic level for that transmitter on your receiver in real time.
Absolutely game changing. This video is not in any way sponsored by Deity, I just love their products and the are doing some BIG things that are revolutionizing the way filmmakers capture audio!
Well that’s it for me y’all, thanks for watching, and if you have any further questions just let me know
