Owen Doonan, Professor of Art History at California State University of Northridge. He is also a 2022-23 Getty Consortium Fellow at the Getty Research Institute. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Classics and Classical Archaeology from Tufts University and his PhD in Old World Archaeology from Brown University. He serves as Chair of the American Institute of Archaeology Anatolia Interest Group (2022-present) and Eastern Europe and Eurasia Interest Group (2005-22), was recognized as the AIA’s G.M.A. Hanfmann Lecturer (2016-2017) and he serves on the AIA Fellowships Committee. He directs the Sinop Regional Archaeological Project (1996-present) and Sinop Kale Excavations (2015-2022). He has written more than 50 books and articles and has been awarded grants from the NEH, NSF, National Geographic Society, the Getty Foundation, and the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung.
