Eskom spent half-a-billion rand on a 3-month security tender with Fidelity. These are the claims from the private security association, Tapsosa, who are demanding an inquiry into the matter. The association says former Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter flouted tender processes to get the deal approved. The utility meanwhile says it’s not in a position to comment as it's still investigating the matter. Meanwhile, residents from Fontainebleau in Johannesburg, have been left without power after cable theft at an unguarded substation. eNCA senior reporter, Aviwe Mtila, filed this report.
