Dimitri Vassilakis, saxophonist, composer, adjunct staff and researcher at the master course of the Athens Kapodistrian University presents "Jazz & AI interaction” performance example with guitar, opera, and speech using DYC12 system developed at IRCAM.
For this example the system on 2 laptops reshuffles fragments from an operatic production of Oedipus Rex and the famous speech by Martin Luther King.
The interaction is triggered by the length, attack, gesture movements and articulation of the soprano saxophone and guitar improvisation, audio to midi sax and midi guitar also trigger gospel choir, synth sounds and effects.
On the guitar and opera file Tilemachos Mousas, on the laptops George Apostolopoulos, students at the master course of the Athens Kapodistrian University, control different “scenarios” of the AI interaction, video by Yiannis Peikidis at the UOA Labmat Studios.
