Abandoned Churches by Francis Meslet and his team
Another title in the "Abandoned...." series which brings together amazing photographs, around Europe of abandoned ecclesiastical buildings. During their lifetimes, they have seen all manner of life and death and now there is nothing but a witness to history. The gentle (sometimes stark) passage of time has wrought decay and disaster on many of these once beautiful buildings, that still often have a majesty and presence today.
The team went in, captured the photos for posterity and left. At least photographic evidence will still be around once these buildings have turned to dust. Most locations are not specified to preserve the buildings.
