Girsky to Chair Adam Opel AG Supervisory Board on Driving the Nation
Three executives have just been sent to General Motors Europe to try to save Opel.
General Motors Vice Chairman Stephen Girsky has been named Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Adam Opel AG, effective immediately. Girsky has served as a member of the Opel Supervisory Board since January 2010. Akerson had to name someone to help Karl Friedrich Stracke, President of GM Europe and CEO of Opel/Vauxhall, since Nick Reilly resigned from the board as a member and chairman pretty much immediately.
The other two, GM Chief Financial Officer Dan Ammann and GM International Operations President Tim Lee have been appointed to the Opel Supervisory Board.
