You can start call recording any time during a Skype call on both the desktop and mobile devices. Watch the steps shown in this video about how to record a Skype call

You can record a Skype call directly in the app. The option of call recording is only for Skype to Skype calls.
Let’s see how we can record a call

1. During the call on Skype click plus icon for more options.
2. From the drop down menu click on Start Recording.
3. You can see on the recording has been start in the top of Skype app window.
4. Once your call discussion is completed, Click on the Call End at bottom and wait for sometime.
5. See, you call has been stored in the app and it will be available for next 30 days in the app.
6. Click on more options as shown in the screen, and then click on Save to “Download”, and file will be download in your local pc.
