Tennis players Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek have been suspended for failing drug tests, with Swiatek accepting a one-month ban. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) accepted the contamination was caused by melatonin, with the supplier issuing an apology. Swiatek's suspension came three months after Sinner was cleared of any fault over two positive tests in March. Max Purcell has been provisionally suspended for violating tennis' anti-doping rules. ITIA CEO Karen Moorhouse encourages players to appreciate their responsibility to ensure supplements fall within the World Anti-Doping Agency's code of conduct. The WADA's director Oliver Niggli suggested that improvements in testing methods may highlight positive doping cases that fall below the threshold of performance-enhancing substances.
