Clips from the Silver division race in the Sport Class at the 2014 National Championship Air Races. Mostly this focuses on a battle at the back of the field between #91 Ryan Moran ("Breaking Wind") and #55 Tom McNerney ("Unleashed").

After that battle breaks off, there's a bit of "dead space" as I tried to find the leaders. After looking at the viewscreen for so long, my eyes by themselves were pretty useless (the screen "burns in" a whole bunch of spots in my eyes that persist for a few minutes). But I did manage to find the leaders coming around the final pylon. Margin of victory was 0.275 of a second, with the top three all within two seconds of one another.
Sadly, Alan Crawford in #21 "Spirit of America" would suffer an in-flight fire and crashed that aircraft in Texas just a few weeks after this video was shot (video is from September; the crash was in October). He was critically injured and is still recovering. The aircraft was completely destroyed.
I also have video of the Medallion and Bronze division Sport Class races yet to post (as well as Gold; no, I was not rolling when Wostenholme had the hard landing, though I was looking at him the whole way down and saw the crash), but decided to post this now because I happened to find McNerney's video.

The jet noise in the foreground was the Patriot Jet Team warming up their engines; they were doing a show immediately after this race.
