Witkoff Group founder Steve Witkoff, who started his own real-estate company and is a friend of the former president, said he called Donald Trump after Saturday’s assassination attempt and described how Trump took the call and asked about his kids.
“It surprised me, but it shouldn’t have,” Witkoff said. “I know this man very well. President Trump is as kind and compassionate a man as I’ve ever met in my lifetime.”
Witkoff spoke at the RNC.
