Cyclone Mocha was a powerful and deadly tropical cyclone that hit Myanmar in May 2023. The storm caused widespread damage and loss of life. According to state media in Myanmar, at least 54 people were killed and more than 185,000 buildings were damaged by the cyclone. Aid groups in the country are having trouble gaining access to areas affected by the storm without approval from the junta. Cyclone Mocha is one of the strongest storms to ever hit Myanmar.
