The Delonghi Eletta is a beautifully-designed, fully automatic cappuccino machine, capable of quickly brewing up frothy breakfast coffees at the touch of a button. The simple design makes it easy to use and fairly low-maintenance, so it’s a good choice for anyone looking for an effortless way to quickly make cappuccinos.

At the front of this machine are the twin spouts, for preparing one or two cups of coffee in a single brewing cycle. Just to the left is the steam wand, and the area for setting up the milk frother jug. To the right is the water tank, which can be easily removed when it’s time for a refill. Underneath these is the drip tray, which slides out for cleaning.

If you prefer a Bean to Cup experience, you can fill the hopper at the top of the machine with coffee beans to run through the built in grinder. Alternatively, you can spoon pre-ground coffee into the chute just here. You’ll only need to add one spoonful per cup of coffee.

Also on top of the machine is the warming plate for preheating your coffee mugs, which helps reduce the amount of heat that gets lost when you pour in your drink, giving your coffee a more consistent flavour.

The electronic control panel allows you to set the temperature, aroma strength, and level of froth.

There are several pre-set programs available for making one-touch coffee, including Cappuccino,

Caffe Latte and Latte Macchiato. As well as the standard espresso, this machine can also make long coffee, or just produce steam or hot water for tea or cups of soup. And if you create your own custom coffee drink, you can save the milk and coffee settings to be conveniently recalled at the touch of a button.

Delonghi’s LatteCrema milk system is designed to deliver consistently creamy foam with every drink you make, while minimising the amount of maintenance. Once you’ve finished preparing a milky coffee, you can just stick an empty cup under the jug’s spout and turn the dial to “clean”. Once the machine’s finished flushing out the spout, you can turn the dial back to a froth setting, remove the jug, wipe down the steam wand, and return the jug to the fridge until next time you need it.

When it comes to maintaining the rest of the machine, the control panel will alert you whenever you need to refill the bean container or water tank, or empty the grounds container or drip tray. You should also regularly clean the coffee machine’s different parts so you can keep enjoying its high quality performance.
