주한美대사 골드버그 박진 장관 예방
The new U.S. ambassador to South Korea met with the nation's top diplomat.
During their first meeting since taking the post, Philip Goldberg thanked Park Jin for his warm welcome and said he looks forward to furthering their "great" alliance.
The official vowed to work with the South Korean government to strengthen their "global strategic partnership," an upgrade to the alliance.
Seoul's foreign minister said he was glad to have Goldberg as the new ambassador, and expressed hopes the official works to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Earlier in the day, Goldberg submitted his credentials to the foreign ministry, a formal process signaling the start of his new role.
