TRIAGE SYSTEM 🔴🟡🟢⚫️
🚨A triage system can get activated when there is a disaster, emergency, or a high influx of patients.
👉Triage means to group, rank, or prioritize patient care based on their presenting signs or symptoms.
👉There are different color-coded tags that the medical staff use to triage patients.
🔴RED TAG: These are used for patients who have been HIT hard by disaster.
H: Highest Priority
I: Immediate Tx Needed
T: Threatening & Major Injuries
🟡YELLOW TAG: Remember yellow is as bright as the SUN.
S: Second Highest Priority
U: Urgently treat within 2 hrs
N: Non life-threatening, but major injuries.
🟢GREEN TAG: These patients WIN at life since they stayed safe.
W: Wait hours-days for tx
I: Injuries Minor
N: Non life-threatening
⚫️BLACK TAG: Rest in peace to these patients we LOST in the emergency.
L: Lowest Priority
O: Only Comfort Measures
S: Survival Chances ⬇️
T: Tx contraindicated since pt is breathless/pulseless
