Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer; and today we're taking a look at the Kuat grip on the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. Super easy to load and unload on this carrier. Probably one of the best features about it. Just slide those out. What makes this really great, and ease of use, is of course if your vehicle's taller and if you're shorter, but also, after you get done with your ride, you're gonna have a lot of snowy boots, you don't necessarily want to jump into the side of your car or on your seats. So this just makes it a lot easier.

This carrier is going to allow you to carry up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards. Just really easy to use. Open it up, just a simple, upward motion. Very easy to load and unload. Like so.

We have a double lock and core system that will take the same key; so that just makes it really handy. But, the locks over here, is going to keep your carrier secure to your roof rack. And then over here, once you have your gear locked in, just slide that over, lock that, and now your gear is secure to your carrier. We have this carrier on our 54 inch crossbars and from the end of the carrier to the end cap, we have about 29 and three quarter inches of usable space, where we can add a kayak, a bike, or whatever other rooftop accessory. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite snow and skateboard carriers, just because of its awesome quality build, the fact that it extends, and the double locking cores.

If you wanted something that's a little bit more affordable, check out the Yakima FatCat, it's gonna have pretty much all of the same features except without the extension. But other than that, this is a great choice. All right, to begin the installation, first thing we want to note, is if you have smaller or larger crossbars, you can adjust the length of this with this tool right here. Is just throw it on and clamp it down, super easy. Besides making that first adjustment, you don't really need any tools after that.
