K's teaching sessions provide the opportunity for vocalists (beginners to professionals) to sing in Brazilian Portuguese in an authentic way. This approach also helps students to connect in a deeper way to the emotional, cultural, spiritual and romantic aspects of Bossa Nova and the Portuguese language itself.

She developed a unique teaching method drawing from Paulo Freire’s Liberation theory and methodology, speech therapy, NVC, yoga and jazz music to create a fun, relaxing and uplifting way of learning to accurately pronounce Portuguese. This enables vocalists who are not Brazilian to sing Bossa Nova in Portuguese, authentically.

K teaches in the UK, Spain and Brazil but also gives lessons via Skype/Facetime to anyone in the world.

K speaks German, Spanish, Portuguese, English and Italian and so gives Jazz/Bossa Nova Portuguese pronunciation in lessons in all these languages to vocalists anywhere in the world.

She is also a musician (U-base, Fretless Bass), does computer sampling and also sings. She performs live in bands and also as a duo with her partner Johnty Wilks. She has a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences, a M.Sc. in social research and natural resources and is a practitioner of Yoga, Karate, Tai Chi and Capoeira.

She uses a virtual studio and provides lessons in high quality audio and video streaming and together with her Johnty, who is saxophonist and music producer, can also offer finished tracks and videos physically in their portable studio on location or virtually via Skype and other VOC’s.

She also accompanies vocalist on the bass and also can provide accompaniment from Johnty Wilks on alto and soprano saxophones.
