In a last-ditch effort, the Shiv Sena has moved the Supreme Court again, seeking to bar the rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde from the Maharashtra assembly. This comes a day after Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the chief minister of Maharashtra, with BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis taking oath as his deputy. Their way to the top posts was cleared when Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray resigned as chief minister ahead of a floor test to prove his majority.
