Today, we're going to take a look at the Chrome Plated Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors for the 2.562 Hub Bore. This is for a quantity of 2. The Bearing Buddy designs an easy way to protect your bearings by keeping water out, and ensuring enough grease is in the hub. Basically, this installs to where your grease cap would be in your axle hub right now. You just pop your grease cap out, and tap this into place. This will prevent wheel bearing failure because it will keep water, and dirt out of your hubs and bearings. It allows your boat trailer wheels to be completely submerged in the water, and it helps eliminate bearing repacking.
Did you notice the great zerk fitting right here This will provide easy access to that grease fitting. It makes adding grease to the bearings very quick and simple. You just put your grease gun on there, and pump the grease in. When you pumping grease in, it will maintain a slight controlled pressured, about 3 psi, because it has the spring loaded piston right in here, and that helps prevent water from entering the hub. If you want to check the level, you just press on the edge of the piston, and it will give you a quick, reliable, level check. Basically, what it does, if you can rock the piston, the hub is properly filled. It also will prevent over filling, and any rear seal damage to the seal on your hub because it has an automatic pressure relief feature in it.
Basically, when you're pumping grease in there, if it starts to over fill, the grease will seep around the piston edges, and into the barrel when its full. This is constructed of stainless steel internal parts, and on then on the outside is triple chrome plated steel barrel. That will give you long lasting fit compared to the a lot of the plastic or aluminum products that are out there. That does include these rubber covers that will go over there. That will help protect it, and also keep any of the grease if its in the barrel there, from coming out onto your wheels, or tires. These again, do install very easily. They just tap in place of your grease cap, now.
These are made in the USA, and again the specs, they are designed to fit 2.562 hub bore, and that would be the diameter, right here, that goes into your hub. If we put a ruler on it, you can see 2.562 hub bore. It's designed to work with 48548 outer bearings, and you just put your cover on just like that.
