As the aircraft climbs out of Toronto’s runway 33L, it encounters a flock of geese. One of the birds impacts the captain's windshield with intense force, penetrating the glass and causing it to shatter. With a cracked windshield and minor injuries to the pilot from shattered glass, the crew quickly decides to halt their climb at 5000 feet and safely return to Toronto.
