Renouncing selfishness by warding off the five passions,
o brother, fix your heart on “Except God”.. ..2

Those believers who have come to the truth and good deeds have
earned the merit of their righteous action.. ..3

Those believers who have properly dissolved themselves in
good deeds have mingled with the Light as light.. ..4

Those thus mingled have become immortal. They have found in
themselves the glory of the Lord.. ..5

Now listen: what use is love for the world? To what end are souls bound to it? ..6

Those whose minds are fixed on greed, cupidity and attachment have
turned away from the way of faith.. ..7

Why do some believers become involved with the selfish promptings of their passions?
They are destroyed amidst the forces of allurement.. ..8

O believer in the Five Holy Ones, if you do not give your wealth, your lives’ business is false.. ..9

Realise that one fortieth part is due, o believers, and forsake the snare of the world.. ..10

If you do not realise that He is the Perfect Guide, o believers,
then you wander in the world like the blind.. ..11

If you recognise Him with your inner self, o believers,
then your hearts will shine as pure as the moon.. ..12

Believe in the Guide with your mind and attention.
The Lord is present in the heart at every moment.. ..13

Imamdin the Sage says: listen to these words, o pious ones.
Over the space between the brows is the Light.. ..14

Eji Samaaya re so ta amar huva

Eji Ab sooniyo re duniya keri mahobat
Kese kaame jiv baandha.. ..6

Eji Lobh laalach re man mohsu(n) lagat hay
So deenki raahse taliya.. ..7

Eji Manki maanetisu(n) miliya moman
So ta mohoke senme(n) jaliya.. ..8

Eji Panj-tani re moman maal na deve
So umaruka jootha dhandha.. ..9

Eji Chaalisa re hak bujo momano
Tame chhodo duniya-ka fanda.. ..10

Eji Murshid kaamilku(n) nahi jaaño momano
Tame joogmaa(n) feero jesa andha.. ..11

Eji Pichhaano re moman apne antarsu(n)
To dil nirmal jesa chanda.. ..12

Eji Murshid maano re apne man chintsu(n)
Saa(n)hiya dil maa(n)he hardam hajoor.. ..13

Eji Pir kahet Imamdin vachan sooño munivar
Bhamar goofa upar noor.. ..14
