Pine Biotech is launching an online program designed to introduce the bioinformatics approaches utilized in cutting-edge precision oncology research. We will cover such topics as molecular factors driving tumor development and metastasis, data generated in oncology studies, processing of NGS data to get a table of mutation variants or gene expression and interpretation of such data. We will also take a look at various aspects of bioinformatics project design and the translational value of such projects. We will cover several examples utilizing datasets from NCBI and TCGA and discuss how challenges in oncology and precision diagnostics as well as treatment are demanding improvements in bioinformatics capabilities.
