Part of Indonesia’s West Java province has been ravaged by severe flooding. The disaster forced 4,000 people in Karawang city from their homes, officials said on February 22, 2021. Monsoon floods also hit Indonesia’s capital Jakarta and its surrounding cities. The catastrophe has left five people dead, authorities said on February 21. Extreme weather is expected to continue until the end of February.
