Thousands of people from Mozambique and South Africa have converged on the hillside of Mbuzini in Mpumalanga.
This to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of the former Mozambican president Samora Machel and 34 others. Machel's plane crashed in Mbuzini in 1986. President Machel and other officials were returning from an African leaders' meeting in Lusaka, Zambia, when his plane crashed on the Lebombo Mountains. Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and other senior officials from Mozambique are addressing people attending the commemoration.
