Senate Bill 8 requires a physician to perform an ultrasound before an abortion procedure, describe the ultrasound image to the patient, and give a medical explanation of what it shows. The measure is sponsored by Sen. Whitney Westerfield (R-Hopkinsville), who spoke on the Senate floor on February 5, 2014.
