BURNET — Clyde Griffin, 92, smiled as he walked toward the silver plane parked on the tarmac at the Burnet Municipal Airport on May 4.
"This is too big to be true," the Meadowlakes resident said as he approached the P-51 Mustang, a vintage World War II long-range fighter. "I never thought this would happen again."
But thanks to the Freedom Flyers, an organization in Burnet that provides flights for World War II veterans, Griffin got to soar once more.
