Martin Plaut’s speech at the #TigrayGenocide peaceful March in London.
What is the Tigray Genocide?
On November 4th 2020, unelected Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed waged war on the northern region of Ethiopia, Tigray.
With the help of the Eritrean government, foreign troops and UAE drones the beginning of the genocidal war on Ethnic Tigrayans began.
The war is being fought in the dark, with a communication blackout since November, independent journalists barred and national journalists intimidated.
There is no or limited access to water, electricity, banks and medical supplies. Tigray is under siege!
Ethnic cleansing is being conducted through weaponisation of hunger and rape in addition to ransacked healthcare facilities, mass killings, destruction of religious and historical sites, as well as war crimes at the hands of Eritrean and Ethiopian troops.
