Some questions to ask:

- PLANS: What is your usual plan of attack for cases like mine? What steps will you take? How long does your process usually take? What if it takes longer than that?
- MY CASE: What outcomes are typical for cases like mine? What are the strengths/weaknesses of my case, as it stands? What if I lose?
-COMMUNICATION: How will you involve me in decisions about my case? How often will I hear from you (or my attorney)? If I need to reach you (them), how should I do that & how long will it typically take you to respond?
- BILLING: Fee strucure? How often will you bill me? What happens if I can’t afford continue with the case? Any payment or assist options? What if your rates or billing practices change mid-stream? STABILITY: Is my case likely to reassigned to someone else? What are options if I’m not satisfied with the representation I’m getting? When my might you decide to drop me as a client? What recourse do I have in that case?
You can find MORE REVIEWS at sites like Avvo, Martindale--Hubble, Lawyers.com, SuperLawyers, Yelp (not my favorite), and check Reddit. Often people ask for recommendations in their area in, and the responses are often helpful. r/legaladvice and r/employment law are decent places to start.
