Mayor John Tory announced during Wednesday's COVID-19 briefing that the city is releasing geographic data of COVID-19 infections in the city’s neighbourhoods.
The geographic maps are now available on the city's website and show that people in the North East and North West are the most affected by COVID-19, depending on the last two weeks of activity, said Dr. de Villa.
She also said the maps confirm that COVID-19 is present "in every single neighbourhood" of the city.
Mayor Tory has announced the reopening of the city's 8th child-care centre in the region of East York for children of essential and critical workers after receiving an authorization from the province of Ontario regarding that issue.
Mayor Tory has also announced that due to federal regulations requiring half-capacity loads and other restrictions on Toronto Island ferries, and public health advice, the amenities on Toronto Island Park will remain closed and there will be no public ferry access to the park.
Following up on the Trinity Bellwoods park situation, Tory said that park staff will will be at the park on Thursday to draw circles on the grass of the park to ensure physical distancing is maintained.
A total of 10,525 cases of COVID-19 has been reported in the city as of Wednesday, according to the city's official website.
