The UNC Institute for the Environment’s Center for Resilient Communities + Environment presents a seminar featuring Sara Meerow. Meerow is an assistant professor in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning at Arizona State University. She is an interdisciplinary scholar working at the intersection of urban geography and planning to make cities more resilient to climate change and other hazards in a way that is sustainable and just. Her current projects focus on conceptualizations of urban resilience, planning for urban resilience in a changing climate, and green infrastructure in a range of cities. This talk will synthesize some of Meerow’s latest collaborative research on advancing urban resilience in the face of more extreme heat.
