The verdict on a plea challenging the delay in the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections by the Election Commission of Pakistan is expected to be announced by the Supreme Court of Pakistan today (Tuesday). The court's three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and including Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Ijazul Ahsan, reserved the verdict on Monday after hearing arguments from concerned parties. The Ministry of Defence submitted a report to the top court in a sealed envelope, citing reasons for the unavailability of troops for the elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The verdict will be announced after the report is reviewed by the court. Security measures have been taken, with police, Rangers, and FC personnel deployed and barbed wire placed around the court to prevent any untoward incidents. Only authorized individuals will be allowed to enter the court premises after proper verification, and those visiting for their cases must provide proof to enter the building.
