Not many gyms feature a huge lead roof like Dyno Rock! This was always out favorite feature of the gym and we used to make the drive down from Norman some weekends just to enjoy attempts on the lengthy horizontal roof.
Keep in mind this was the middle of summer in Texas - which was extremely hot. Back then Dyno Rock (like most climbing gyms) did not have any A/C. You can hear the large fans pushing the hot air around. The background soundtrack - a staple of climbing gyms - is notable for the time period; Red Hot Chili Peppers, Henry Rollins - those are two that I noticed. Grunge and "alternative" were in and typically on loop. There were no streaming services - so it was all CDs.
