SIS Solo Underground (Street Lights & Signs)
In this crash test a street light is installed in a RS140 socket and fitted with a SIS electrical disconnection system. An impact sensor is attached to the lighting column and connected to a monitor board which is housed in a clear-fronted water tight enclosure located within a local access chamber. On impact the SIS activates isolation within 0.2 seconds and trips the circuit breakers and all voltages to the column. The damaged post is then removed from the RS140 socket and the foundation ready for another post installation.
