Reviewing Amazon's All-New Echo smart speaker, the 4th-generation model fresh for 2020 with Alexa smarts and a sleek spherical design. If you're after a speaker that can do your bidding and also blast out great-quality audio for streaming music, the 4th gen Echo is a great alternative to Google's Nest Audio.
Not everyone will love the change in design but I'm a fan, especially with the new bottom-mounted LED ring. Setup is nice and straightforward - just download Amazon's Alexa app onto your phone and pair up, job done. You can then use that voice assistant to control your smart home gear, or ask her to stream music from Spotify, Apple, Deezer etc.
This is definitely one of the best speakers I've tested under £100 for audio chops. Any kind of track, from pop and jazz to rock and dance, sounds great thanks to the strong bass and clarity. I'd pick the Amazon All-New Echo 2020 over the Nest Audio for sure (although Google's smart speaker is still pretty impressive for the size and price).
