Today we are going to learn the expression killing two birds with one stone, sometimes said as killing two birds at once. We use it when we are able to do two things at the same time or in the same place. Killing two birds with one stone always means you are saving time so if you are able to figure out a way to say this to your boss you will probably get a raise.
EXAMPLES :
I am often late so a simple everyday example might be “when I am in a rush I brush my teeth while I am taking a shower to kill two birds with one stone.”
For business purposes one thing you might hear is “using solar power will allow us to kill two birds with one stone. It will reduce our energy costs and improve our brand image with our customers.”
One thing I like to tell my students on the first day of school is “taking my class is like killing two birds with one stone. You will improve your English and learn about current business events.”
