Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has chosen Russia for his first foreign visit since the attempted coup last month. The relations between the two countries were badly damaged after Turkey shot down a Russian military jet over the Syrian border in November. But nine months later, the bitter war of words has stopped and both countries appear to be on the road to reconciliation.
