Jaguar initially planned an electric XJ, but the model was delayed and eventually canceled. In 2021, Jaguar Land Rover introduced the Reimagine strategy, focusing on sustainability and modern luxury, which includes Jaguar transitioning to an all-electric lineup with new designs and technologies.
The upcoming Jaguar lineup will feature a four-door GT debuting in 2025, boasting up to 430 miles of range. An insider reveals that another model, previously thought to be a crossover, is actually a new limousine, distinct from the XJ. This model will have a "radically minimalist" design with a low-slung silhouette, 22-inch wheels, a floating roof, and a non-functional grille-style structure. Notably, it will lack a rear window in favor of a digital rearview mirror and replace the traditional leaper emblem with “Jaguar” lettering.
The limousine will be comparable in size to the Bentley Mulsanne, with a length similar to the old XJ but a larger wheelbase. Inside, it will feature a digital-centric cabin with no physical controls, incorporating a digital instrument cluster, infotainment system, and individual rear-seat displays. The vehicle will utilize the new Jaguar Electric Architecture and dual-motor all-wheel drive.
