Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma officially inaugurated a Shiitake Mushroom Production Plant and Training Centre. The plant has been set up in Upper Shillong with an expenditure of Rs 15 Cr. Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of DoNER and the Meghalaya government. Ministry of Tribal Affairs, DoNER and Meghalaya govt. Has sponsored this project. It aims to support 1000 farmers in the state with 3 output cycles every year.
