Perhaps Jimmy Work’s most famous contribution to country was the song, “Making Believe,” later recorded by Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, and Kitty Wells. It’s unfortunate that this song was probably his longest lasting contribution—a fantastic song, but he wrote and sang so many others as well, it’s a shame that those haven’t for whatever reason had the same staying power. I will post some of his lesser-known music in the future.
