When people talk about Puerto Princesa, the first thing that comes to mind is the underground river. For decades tourists have flocked in droves to this unique natural attraction that has caught the attention, not only in the country but worldwide.
But for years stories about the supposed degradation of the underground water kept tourists limited but at some point we told ourselves we had to check it out first-hand. And we are no less than at awe at what we witnessed. The experience was quite surreal, almost spiritual as we found ourselves slowly getting enveloped and immersed in a whole world. Inside the cave was deafening silence, cool temperature and endless masterful shapes of stalagmites and stalactites were just simply mind-blowing.
While there make sure to go for the island hopping of Honda Bay and other sites like the Ugong Rock Adventure.
and for lodging, THE FUNNY LION -PUERTO PRINCESA is 5 stars, consistent to their brand. Rooms, amenities, location, cuisine, cocktails and most of all the staff service was excellent!
