GREY BIRD of the OAKS and friends are endangered, as "town planners" of suburban sprawl, builders of millionaire McMansions and other weirdos continue to chop down beautiful oak trees all over California. Cities have already wiped out massive oak woodlands. Think about it: Do you know the city of Oakland? That urban wasteland was once a paradise for the Grey Birds.

California has always had terrible wildfires; that's just a small part of the problem. The continued spread of human housing in bird lands once lush with oaks is quickly destroying their only habitat.
Stop chopping oak trees! There is rarely a good reason to chop *any* tree, I would say.
