In the United States, Black women are 3 to 4 times as likely to die during childbirth as their white counterparts.
Black women and members of other marginalized communities argue they need tools and resources to take action against this crisis.
There is one leading advocate named Latham Thomas working to empower Black mothers and birthing people. She is the founder of “Mama Glow,” a global maternal health platform that provides both doula education and services.
Thomas joins Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss the fight against the crisis of Black maternal health in America.
