16th century composer Nicola Vicentino published some short fragments of enharmonic compositions in 1555 using 31 pitches per octave. Here is the first few bars of “Madonna il poco dolce” we played with my dear friend Johannes Keller at Harvard University’s Center for Renaissance Studies. Microtonal guitar arrangement is by composer Caspar Johannes Walter.
