Hindustani Kapi on violin. The second side of of Pt. T Chowdiah's 78rpm rendering Hindustani music on Carnatic violin. Pt. Mysore T Chowdiah (1895-1967), was a disciple of Vidwan Bidaram Krishnappa and exponent of Carnatic music. In this record, he presents a Telugu Bhajan in Hindustani Raga Kafi. This further elaborates how the close proximity of Hindustani and Carnatic Sangeet in the royal courts of Mysore, enabled some musicians to blend both genres in innovative ways to create beautiful music.
