Indian Railways is set to enhance track safety and reduce maintenance with the adoption of state-of-the-art rail fastening systems. The Railway Board Member for Infrastructure, A.K. Khandelwal, confirmed the introduction of the latest W 30 system, designed to support high axle loads.
Advanced Rail Fastening Systems offers robust performance with its tension clamp Skl 30, which features an optimized design for increased toe loads, dynamic fatigue strength, and high creep resistance. This system ensures safe operation under extreme temperatures, ranging from -60 to +50 degrees Celsius. Notably, its components, including the rail pad and angled guide plate, are made from electrically insulating plastics, eliminating the need for additional insulation.
Moreover, the Advanced Rail Fastening Systems is versatile, accommodating both heavy freight and passenger traffic. Its enhanced rail pad can handle significant pressures, making it suitable for high-speed passenger trains and heavy freight operations, The system also includes an abrasion-resistant plate to protect against wear and sand penetration, ensuring long-term durability.
