Violence has erupted again in Manipur as militants dropped RPGs at several places in Imphal by using quadcopter drones. Authorities have created a five-member committee looking into the matter, which will submit its report by September 13. The use of drones and RPGs in the ethnic violence in Manipur has raised severe concerns as to how the militants got the equipment. How Militants Got The Equipment? According to experts, these militants have very close relations with Myanmar's People's Defense Force. The PDF is known to use drones for attacks against the Myanmar Army. Experts believe that there is a possibility that such drones made in China are reaching these militants via Myanmar, but the way these drones are being armed with local weapons, there is a possibility that foreign powers are also involved in this. The ethnic violence between the tribal Kuki-Zo and the Meitei people in Manipur has claimed over 220 lives and displaced more than 60,000 people since May 3, 2023.
