Smoke alarm batteries need to be changed every six months or as soon as it begins chirping. Here are the quick and easy steps (for all models) to ensure this process is done correctly.
After watching this video, there's one more note I'd like to add. Some smoke alarms do not have a battery backup feature. If this is the case in your residence, I recommend replacing your alarm. That way, even during a power outage you'll still get an early warning of a fire.
