Welcome to the Pedal Head Show! Today in this episode of the Pedal Head Show I’ll be reviewing the Foxy Tone Box from the great people over at Warm Audio.

This flocked fuzzy box is a true replication of the Foxx Tone Machine. Which is a fuzz pedal that was heard on the boards of many popular artists in the mid 60’s and early 70’s. Some artists include, ZZ Top and Aerosmith just to name a view.

The Foxy tone box is a part for part boutique replication of the Foxx Tone Machine using New Old Parts specifically sought after old germanium transistors.
This Pedal screams Vintage Fuzz to the max, giving you loads of low end along with a nice sustaining mid focus (Velcro like) and with the shift of the Octave Fuzz Switch we can expect a bright piercing octave fuzz. All the eq can be tailored with the tone know on the far right of the side of the pedal.

This pedal requires 9v from a modern Barrel Adaptor (one included in the box)
It can work with any standard 9v power supply.
Includes a small 3mm LED to assure you the pedal is receiving power but it is not a bypass indicator light.
The Foxy tone box is true bypass for a clear signal path.

This pedal is a bit to handle to the ears, but cuts through a mix very well. This pedal doesn’t get along with Wah pedals in front of it. I suggest either placing your wah post fuzz to sweep all the octave fuzz goodness, or I recommend placing a buffered pedal (Boss, Ibanez, ect.) in between the wah and the Foxy Tone Box.
But most vintage fuzzes and Wahs don’t play nice together.. the issue with this fuzz was that I couldn’t hear any sweep of my Gcb 95 Crybaby wah. But that’s to be expected when working with old germanium transistors.

In this demo I’m using a Line 6 Helix Patch that I made utilizing a new amp offered by Line 6 in their latest 3.60 update called the Grammatico.

The overdrive is post of the Foxy tone box, which includes the Warm Audio Centavo stacked into a Boss OD-3.
